A well functioned, gritty team performance gave Soham all 3 points on the road. Manager Indie Darar made a number of changes giving Louie McPherson, Roly Dickinson and Bahador Chizari starts. All three looked lively throughout the first half creating a few chances and looking very penetrative.
The home side didn't create too much but not through the lack of trying but more to do with fantastic resolute, organised and brave defending from the back 5 especially.
In the second half Soham made changes with Aidan Course and Callum Russell both coming on to hopefully make an impact. Within minutes of Russell's arrival he latched on to a pass from skipper Charlie Root who incidental was different class throughout the whole match and gave a captains performance, beat the skipper and defender tracking back and had an empty goal to slot the ball into. Course also had a chance but narrowly placed wide.
As the game approached the final period Soham demonstrated all the battling qualities, showing real character and desire to hold and eventually collect a well deserved victory.
Soham are next in action Monday 9th March away against Histon, semi-final of the Munns Cup.
