Edmunds (Foul 68) A goal three minutes from time gave Beaconsfield a 3-2 victory at the Lane, but this was after Soham had recovered from being 2-0 down at the break. The Greens made a number of changes from last weekends defeat at Romulus, which included Bromwich, Reed and Ogbonna returning having missed the game, whilst Rob Foster was given a debut after joining on loan from Nuneaton Town during the week. From kick off it was a fairly even start from both sides, with the visitors just edging the possession, although neither side created any clear openings with Osobus effort after four minutes, which was well off target, the closest either side came to find the net. Sohams first meaning effort came in the 15th minute when Harry parried Fosters ball to the back post, but Ogbonna couldnt get close enough to connect to the loose ball. Reed and Osobu both put wide before Hill had a goal cancelled out by the officials for offside in the 26th minute. Around the half hour mark, Harry produced a number of saves to deny the Soham strikers, thwarting Foster twice and Furnell, the best being from Fosters freekick, which the keeper pushed onto the bar then over for a corner. Moments later, Chamberlain was required to make an important save of his own tipping Osobus effort round the post after the striker had played a one-two with Charlery in midfield, before the same player headed over from the resultant corner. The Beaconsfield number ten then quickly changed the game with two goals in a four-minute spell to give his side a two-goal advantage at the break. The opening goal came in the 37th minute when Soham failed to clear their area, allowing Charlery to play the ball back into the middle of the goal for Victor Osobu the easiest of finished from close range. Hill then powered a shot over from Charlerys layoff, before Osobu found plenty of room to collect a ball over top of the home defence, to make his way into the area, round Chamberlain to roll the ball into an empty net in the 41st minute. Soham replaced Scott Carter with Adam Weston at the break, as the Greens came out brightly after the interval. Foster had another effort pushed over by Harry, whilst Ogbonna fired into the side netting from a corner, before the hosts pulled a goal back in the 57th minute; Michael Simpson received Hipwells ball across the edge of area firing an unstoppable left footed shot past Harry into the top corner of the net. Soham should have equalised a minute later, but after working hard to keep the ball in play at the by-line, Foster and Ogbonna had efforts blocked from close range, while Furnells shot was deflected behind for a corner, from which Reed headed wide. Moments later, Foster was again involved setting up Ogbonna, but again the striker failed to beat Harry, as the keeper tipped the low effort round his near post. Both sides made changes in the 63rd minute with Libam coming on with Edmunds, who along with Simpson received cautions for fouls in the middle of the pitch not long after. Both keepers then made routine high saves from Libam and Clark, before Soham equalised with eleven minutes remaining, when Ogbonna delivered the ball towards the back post where Charles Libam headed home his first goal of the new season. With the game now level, both sides went looking for a late winner as Foster put over with an overhead kick and Clark headed wide, but with only three minutes remaining, Osobu found plenty of room to come running in at the back post to head Charlerys left sided delivery past Chamberlain for his hat trick and Beaconsfields winner.
