The former Ivory Coast Under 21 striker arrived at the Lane in September 2006 from Newmarket Town, having previously played for Histon and Mildenhall Town. He became an instant hit, scoring five goals in his first four appearances, before going onto be top goal scorer the following season as Soham won the 2008 Ridgeons League title. Libam missed the majority of the Greens first season in the Southern League after seriously injuring his leg in a friendly at Ely City at the beginning of the season, but returned towards the end of that season. During his four seasons at the club, Charlie scored 62 goals in 148 appearances. Libam is thanked for his efforts whilst at the club, and wished all the best for the future. There is better news for another striker that was injured during pre-season, with the news that Richard Gammon has this week had his leg removed from plaster, after sustaining a serious leg injury during the friendly at St Ives Town. Gammon is now expected to start light training, and is hoping to return to the game at the beginning of the New Year. Soham have announced the signing of Younes Tajer this week. The Moroccan striker previously played under Ian Benjamin at Wisbech Town, before having spells with Kettering Town, Heybridge Swifts, Spalding and Deeping Rangers. It is hoped the Younes will be included in Saturdays FA Trophy tie with Grays Athletic. Charles Libam scoring against Dereham Town during the title winning season:
