Soham have retained the Doug Unwin Memorial Trophy by beating hosts Ely City 2-1, who included former Greens Captain Peter Hinde in their squad, with the midfielder coming on for the final 25 minutes of the match.

After a goalless first half, it was Soham that broke the deadlock when Darren Jimson headed home Jones left sided cross on the hour. Ely equalised fourteen minutes later from the penalty spot, before Charles Libam won it for the visitors with nine minutes remaining by lobbing the keeper.
